Château Palais Cardinal is our main wine. According to the traditional methods to make a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, we use a majority of Merlot, complete with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to make a powerfull, fruity, and slightly oaked wine.
Tasting notes :
Neil Martin: “The Palais Cardinal 2018 has a beautiful purity on the nose of currant, cranberry and pomegranate. The oak here is well integrated. The palate is medium bodied with supple tannins, hints of fresh strawberry and raspberry leading to a sappy finish that may lack complexity but seems long enough. Fine.”
James Suckling: “A fruity and nice red with blackberry and blueberry character, medium body and a tasty finish.”
Yves Beck: “Purplish purple. The bouquet of Palais Cardinal is juvenile. It displays notes of cherries and blackcurrant but still needs to gain in intensity. On the palate, the appetizer is juicy and refreshing. The body presents well integrated tannins and a structure which assures the rear well. Just like on the nose, the wine has yet to gain expression a little, but what it is currently showing is promising and encouraging.” 2022-2032
